About

300I’ve spent most of my life with a book in one hand and a pen in the other. In high school, I was Editor in Chief of the school newspaper for three years and I quickly went on to write for my local paper, first as an intern and then as a staff writer. Until recently I worked as the Associate Editor at City Book Review (San Francisco Book Review, Manhattan Book Review, Kids’ BookBuzz) and as intern at the Sacramento based nonfiction literary magazine, Under the Gum Tree. I am a freelance writer and journalist.

At City Book Review I had the privilege of interviewing authors like Joanne Harris and Joe Hill and publisher Barry Cunningham. I was responsible for managing original content on all three sites, including writing and editing articles. I had the added perk of seeing all the season’s newest books before their release date and fostered a habit of being distracted by pretty book covers as they passed my desk.

My taste in books spans genres and confuses everyone (including me). I love historical fiction, fantasy, and am dabbling in SciFi. My favorite books include Achilles Song by Madeline Miller, The Fold by Peter Clines,  and Horns and The Fireman by Joe Hill.

As an avid reader and writer, I’ve always known my love for the written word would carry me to the publishing industry. I hope this blog brings a little literary love into your life.
